Disable the "Do not show this option again" check box when promted to join lync audio
Quick question here, I haven't found any answers yet via google, so I figured I'd drop the question here! Is there a way to disable the "Do not show this option again" check box in Lync 2010/2013 when prompting to join audio? I had a user this morning that had checked that box at some point and his client was not allowing him to join his own online meeting. His manager did the same thing, and experienced the same results. This was with both lync 2010 and 2013 clients. Is this something that can be removed via GPO or somewhere in the default settings? Thanks for your thoughts!

If you talk about the option to join a meeting with audio or by phone etc. This option could be selected on the Lync options "Lync meetings" if the actual Lync CU is installed.

Hi,

You can disable the prompt "Don't show this again" by clear the Option "Before I join meetings, ask me which audio device I want to use" in Lync Option--Lync Meetings.

Also you can change the way to join Lync meeting in the interface of "Lync Meetings".

Thank you for the replies! Do you happen to know if this is a setting that can be changed either in the system image prior to deployment, or a policy based setting that can be pushed out to existing users, or is this a per device setting only? We have over 1400 users in our environment and I'm hoping to cut down on the potential calls to helpdesk if possible. I appreciate your time!

Hi,

You can set it by using GPO or SCCM.

Here is the registry path for the setting:

Lync 2010: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Communicator\JoinAudioConferenceFrom

Lync 2013: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\JoinAudioConferenceFrom

The default value is "1", which Prompt before joining or changing an audio source

You need to change it to "0".
